Story
Sopiveri Consulting is an independent maritime consultancy founded by Capt. Piotr Rusinek, a Master Mariner and Marine & Dry Vetting Manager with management-level experience across ship management, dry vetting, and operational auditing.
But Sopiveri is more than one person's career — it was built on passion and friendship. It's a company founded with, and for, professionals who've spent their lives at sea and ashore, doing this work because they genuinely believe in it. Every consultant and auditor on our team carries both real sea experience and shore-side expertise, so we don't just inspect ships — we understand them, from the wheelhouse to the boardroom. We're a small, close-knit team who trust and support one another, and that shows in how we work with clients: no egos, no shortcuts, just people who know shipping inside out and take real pride in getting it right.

Capt. Kai Oltmanns
Kai brings over 25 years of maritime experience to the team, including more than two decades in shore-based ships management. As a Master Mariner he combines deep sea-going expertise with extensive shore-side leadership in tanker operations, vetting, and marine assurance.

Capt. Piotr Rusinek
Over 20 years of management-level experience across ship management, dry vetting, and operational auditing. Former Senior Marine Manager and Fleet Superintendent/DPA for fleets of 40+ vessels, with a track record of building vetting systems and safety cultures that hold up under real scrutiny — not just on paper. Principle Lead Auditor.

Piotr Owczarek
Piotr brings 35+ years of maritime expertise, combining an M.Sc. in Marine Engineering, First Class Chief Engineer Electro Automation licenses, and extensive sea-going and shore-based experience. Formerly with V. Group and Wilhelmsen, he has led full vessel management teams across diverse fleets of all veseel types, ensuring strong compliance and performance.

Capt. Li Hongning ( Henry)
Henry brings 21 years of ocean-going seafaring experience to the team, including 7 years as Master on both bulk carriers and container vessels. This background gives him a practical, ground-level understanding of vessel operations and safety standards that underpins his work as our vetting lead in China.

Capt. Pawel Gortowski
Senior Security Engineer, defending some of the leading companies in the IT industry against real, active threats on a daily basis. His work sits inside Security Operations Canter and Cyber Defence & Incident Response functions, detecting, investigating, and responding to live security incidents for organizations that cannot afford to get it wrong.
